Pre-Judo class March highlights and more

Hello all, This year seems to be going by so fast! As we head into April I wanted to take some time to share some of our students' accomplishments for the month of March. March Highlights:

We celebrated 5 birthdays this month for our class (that's almost half our class!!)

  • Had 4 students who logged on to all 9 classes!

  • We introduced/reviewed Morote Seoinage and had 8 students able to log over 25 Morote Seoinage quality uchikomi's! 3 with more than 50!

  • We worked hard on building our arm and grip strength getting our class time (everyone with their arms up and straight while opening and closing grips) up to 60 seconds!

  • Half of our class felt confident in their ability to demonstrate Kesa Gatame without any guidance by the end of the month!

  • Check out our class picture with everyone's Judo Buddy! (attached)

During our last class, I had the students fill out a little questionnaire about our first quarter of the year. This will help us better prepare for the next quarter (and rest of the year) by getting an idea of what the kids liked and how much they remember from the last few months. If they didn't get a chance to fill this out but would like to provide feedback please use the following link: For April our judo focus will be:

  • Coordination - emphasis on jumping rope

  • Conditioning

  • Uki Goshi

  • Okuri Ashi Harai (or Barai)

  • Yoko Shiho Gatame (and introduce 1 escape)

As usual, classes will be held Monday's and Thursday's from 6:30-7:30pm on Zoom using the following link: Meeting ID: 385 824 872 Password: judo If you have any questions, comments, or concerns please feel free to email me any time. Looking forward to another AMAZING MONTH of virtual judo!
